Blog Post? Blog Post. (Now with added Happy-ish Thoughts!)

Hey there readers, let’s get the updates out of the way!

Out of Light Update: 2nd draft is about 50% done. Once I get a 3rd draft I’ll bug someone to beta read it for me, or restart my Scribophile subscription. One thing that getting Out of Darkness out there did was make me a little less anxious about posting my writing! Then we’ll start thinking about timelines. (Or not thinking about them, given my history.)

Out of Darkness Update: I know few of you that I owe books to follow this blog, so I’ll throw you an update here. I have a box of books inside padded envelopes right next to my feet. I just have to go to the post office and mail them. Which will be soon-ish.

Secret Projects Update: There’s nothing to update, it wouldn’t be a secret if people knew it existed.

Words and Whatnot

Hi there readers 🙂

Throwing a bit of an update your way. Since I’ve decided to write more things than just War of the Sisters, I tweaked the header/name of this site. Now it’s called Words and Whatnot, because I’m super creative with titles. The URL is staying the same because I haven’t changed my name.

Out of Darkness: 49 sales 😮 (I thought I had 52 the other day, but I’d accidentally counted some twice :o. Oops. )

Out of Light: 32k words into the rewrite. Man, I sure missed these characters, it’s nice to ‘see’ them again. I can already see a lot of nonsense I’m going  to cut next draft. I should cut them now, but I’m not quite ready to kill my darlings.

Other Projects: Well, I have three things on back burner that are all started and in various stages of outlines. (From 1k words to about 30k)  Plus another outline for a book in War of the Sisters’ world. But they’re all still cooking so that’s as good an update as y’all get!

Non-Writing: I’m rereading Way of Kings. I like Sanderson. I’m pretty sure I have like three other books I’m supposed to be reading, but I got distracted. (Not surprising.)

Okay, bye! ❤

I Really Need to Think of Better Titles.

Of these posts I mean. I feel like I can only title so many things “Hello” or “Update” before it gets confusing.

But hello readers 🙂

Today it looks like Amazon put my paperback on sale so today would be a good day to buy a copy or three!  😛 Of course if ebooks are more your thing this is not on sale but it’s still there!

Work (more work?) has started on Out of Light (book 2) I’ve rewritten the first two chapters, (about 3k words) and possibly made a whole lot more work for myself because of an idea I had. But we’ll see how that goes.

Until next time!

Camp NaNoWriMo 2017 – Day 5

Hey everyone!

Day 5 Words –  1234 (heh, neat)

Total Words –  21387

Things I noticed today: Lilith talks to herself. A lot. I think some of her chapters need more fleshing out so instead of Lilith walking us through her thoughts they are a little more apparent.

Camp NaNoWriMo 2017 – Day 4

Hello there!

I procrastinated again today, didn’t end up starting till almost dinner, but that’s fine. I decided to edit two chapters to try and get ahead of my daily goal.

Day 4 Words – 3162

Total Words – 20166

Goal – 50,000 words. (probably should have done chapters/editing time but this feels more impressive to me, for some reason.)

Things I noticed in editing today: Not a whole lot. There was some stuff that needed cut, like descriptions I’d already done. I had to reference my characters dress since she had lost it along the way. And wishy-washy feelings that had to be pushed one way instead of in the middle. Today I edited chapters 9 and 10. 10 is Morgan’s first chapter. I like her, she’s one of my favorites.

I think Morgan and Asherah were always my favorites in this book. I like their relationship and the way they talk to each other.

I realized something the other day. I think Morgan is my true Main Character. Though there are a handful or so of PoV, she’s the one that is the most important, it’s really her story I’m following. I wonder if maybe I need to restructure book 2 to show that better. (But that’s neither here nor there!)
