I have a confession to make. I’m awful at blogging regularly. I bet you never guessed. I just don’t know what to put in here to make it worth updating more than every month or so. I probably won’t ever change, I like chattering. Chattering doesn’t quite work on blogs though.
Rambling on the other hand…
Why hello there, dear readers.
Two things. I’ve noticed recently that whenever I’m in a good mood, or excited, that I begin my posts (whether here, a forum, twitter, or even my personal private journal) with “why hello there” and I think that’s ridiculous.
I’m not going to stop doing it.
Moving on, guess who just got ANOTHER review! (hint: It was me.) That’s 3 now! Isn’t that fancy.

PS: I’ve written words on CampNaNo. Something like 4k, I forgot and I don’t want to reopen the document. Only 2k of that was today. Give or take. This is an awful Camp update.

Continue reading Camp NaNoWriMo Day 7 – A Finished Draft Edition.
Hello readers,
I just got through editing for the past three hours. The first hour was rough, kept losing focus and then suddenly I was in the groove and it’s 6 pm and I’m hungry and can’t remember if I’m me or my character.
Okay, now that’s a bit of an exaggeration. (But only a bit.) I love Out of Light, but I’m fast approaching one of the chapters I always have trouble editing. I had a chapter or two similar to this in Out of Darkness and I would end up procrastinating for a week to avoid the character’s death. I’m not sure, but I might be a little too attached to my characters.
Edits are coming along nicely, though. Pushing 50k words of the rewrite. I’ve killed about 4k words, I’m aiming to drop Out of Light from 125k to about 100k which given my tendency to ramble (who me?) that’s probably easily done.
Okay, I started this post with a clear ending in mind, it had a point and everything, but I seem to have lost it so I’ll just end here!

Throwing a bit of an update your way. Since I’ve decided to write more things than just War of the Sisters, I tweaked the header/name of this site. Now it’s called Words and Whatnot, because I’m super creative with titles. The URL is staying the same because I haven’t changed my name.
Out of Darkness: 49 sales 😮 (I thought I had 52 the other day, but I’d accidentally counted some twice :o. Oops. )
Out of Light: 32k words into the rewrite. Man, I sure missed these characters, it’s nice to ‘see’ them again. I can already see a lot of nonsense I’m going to cut next draft. I should cut them now, but I’m not quite ready to kill my darlings.
Other Projects: Well, I have three things on back burner that are all started and in various stages of outlines. (From 1k words to about 30k) Plus another outline for a book in War of the Sisters’ world. But they’re all still cooking so that’s as good an update as y’all get!
Non-Writing: I’m rereading Way of Kings. I like Sanderson. I’m pretty sure I have like three other books I’m supposed to be reading, but I got distracted. (Not surprising.)
