Bookmarks? Bookmarks.

Hello lovely readers!

Some of you have been following me for a while. Some of you are new! If you’re new, you may have found me by my bookmarks I’ve been leaving around town.

If so, hey there. How’s it going. Yes, it’s true, I wrote a book. Two now! (Well, three, but only two are available.)

Wanna buy them? Or read a sample? Click Here!

If you found the bookmark at work and buy the book, I’ll sign it. If you give me a heads up, I’ll even bring a glitter pen.

Or I’ll promise to, then forget and have to bum a pen off of someone that’s not glittery but is at least purple. Not that that happened or anything.

Out of Light – Chapter 1 (Updated)

Chapter One – Nathalie

“Help me,” a ragged voice called.

Nathalie skidded to a halt, slipping on a patch of damp leaves. The beacons in her satchel shifted, sending out a soft clink of crystal against crystal as she caught herself on a low-hanging branch. “Hello?” she called, hoping for a repeat of the cry. If anyone answered, it was quickly lost in the din of water dripping from leaf to leaf, courtesy of the morning’s rain.

Was, Was, Was.

Hello lovely readers.

You know that feeling when you look at a word for too long, or say it too many times, and you convince yourself it’s not a word? Yeah, I’m not entirely convinced that ‘was’ is a word anymore.

Anyway, editing is going… well? It feels like it’s going well, anyway. I’ve cut about 4k words since… Well, whenever I said it was at 109k words. I’m nearly done with this (annoying) round of edits, then will jump to more nitpicking because that’s just how I roll. I’m so ready to finish this so I can go back to the fun part.

Anyway, since there has been some more  editing (cleaning) done on Chapter 1, I reposted it! Here is a link!

Work is work and I pretend it doesn’t exist outside work. (As is customary.)

I finished reading The Magicians (I didn’t like it, to be honest.) Now I’m reading (rereading)  The Redemption of Althalus because it popped into my head and it seemed like a good idea.

Okay, I guess I should probably stop procrastinating. I hope you enjoyed this “update.”

Sale? Apparently?

Hi lovely readers,

For some reason, Amazon put Out of Darkness on sale (The paperback version at least) for $7.51. That’s cool. So I’m sharing that information with y’all. In case you wanted to buy it. I may, or may not, have gone in and fixed all the chapter headings and the front matter page to look a little cleaner, but nothing important changed.

I’ve been working on little edits all day, mostly changing placeholder names to ones I actually like. (Goodbye: Alex, Brandon, Aaron, Jonathan.) Swapping out all the asterisks for italics now that I’m not jumping between Scrivener and Grammarly.

Um, yep. That’s it, have a good weekend.

Something about being an Arthur

Hello again readers!

It’s October, how did that happen? I’m pretty sure yesterday was July, so this is a little strange. Took a bit of a writing break, but I’ve been back at it the past week or so. The break was apparently what I needed as the editing is going a bit more smoothly now. I even wrote a rough outline of another book in the War of the Sisters world. (And some completely unrelated things, but we’re ignoring those for now.)
